Nase
Zu Beginn etwas zurück haltend. Anklänge von süßem Karamell und Vanille. Die Rosinen im Geruch sind nicht so prägend. Schöne Holzeindrücke vom Fass, Schokolade und kleiner schwarzer Espresso. Mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser macht er mehr auf und es kommen tropische Fruchteinflüsse, kombiniert mit Orange und deren Zeste zum Vorschein.
Geschmack
Unverdünnt - kräftiger Antritt mit viel Süße, Rosinen deutlicher als in der Nase. Vanille mit Zimt. Würzig, fast schön kräuterig.
Verdünnt - auch im Mund helfen ein paar Tropfen Wunder. Auch hier mehr Frucht und die anderen Aromen öffnen sich mehr und vereinen sich zu einem harmonischen Ganzen.
Abgang
Unverdünnt - adstringierend und mit viel Zimt und Muskat - der hohe Alkoholgehalt zeigt Zähne. Schokolade mit hohem Kakaogehalt. Leicht salzig.
Verdünnt - mit Wasser wird der Abgang deutlich länger, nun kommen auch so etwas wie getrocknete Tabakblätter am Ende. Die Kräuter aus dem Geschmack sind lange präsent.
Fazit
Eine schöne Einzelfassabfüllung mit Charakter. Weniger süß und dunkelfruchtig als die Compagnie des Indes Abfüllung, die ich letztens ebenfalls aus Venezuela verkosten durfte. Dieser Vertreter benötigt deutlich mehr Ruhe im Glas und ein wenig Wasserzugabe um vollens aufzublühen. Ist mehr auf der fasslastigen Seite mit mehr Holzeinfluss und Kräutern.

Nose
A little restrained at the beginning. Hints of sweet caramel and vanilla. The sultanas in the nose are not so prominent. Nice wood impressions from the barrel, chocolate and small black espresso. With a few drops of water it opens up more and tropical fruit influences, combined with orange and its zest, come to the fore.
Taste
Undiluted - strong attack with lots of sweetness, sultanas more evident than on the nose. Vanilla with cinnamon. Spicy, almost nicely herbal.
Diluted - a few drops do wonders in the mouth too. Again, more fruit and the other flavours open up more and unite into a harmonious whole.
Finish
Undiluted - astringent and with lots of cinnamon and nutmeg - the high alcohol content shows teeth. Chocolate with high cocoa content. Slightly salty.
Diluted - with water the finish becomes much longer, now there is also something like dried tobacco leaves at the end. The herbs from the taste are present for a long time.
Conclusion
A nice single cask bottling with character. Less sweet and dark fruity than the Compagnie des Indes bottling I had the pleasure of tasting from Venezuela the other day. This representative needs much more rest in the glass and a little water to fully blossom. It is more on the barrel-heavy side with more wood influence and herbs.
