Nase
Sehr schöne aromatische Süßholznoten mit Milchschokolade, Vanille, getrocknete Trauben, geraspelte Kokosnuss in Zuckersirup eingelegt, kandierte Orangen, Muskat, Zimt. Alkohol zeigt sich mit einer leichten Frische und Minzschokolade, After Eight nicht unähnlich, wenn man die Blättchen auseinander bricht. Mit ein paar Tropfen Wasser einerseits mehr Gewürze aber nun auch Schokobananen.
Geschmack
Schöne leichte Süße der getrockneten Trauben und der kandierten Orange und Kokosnuss. Schnell prickelnd, würzig mit etwas Pfeffer. Tabakblätter mit Gewürzen. Viel Zimt und Muskat und dunkle Schokolade mit Nuss. Mit Wasser wird es cremig süßer mit einem Mehr an Frucht und der Geschmack wird runder, harmonischer.
Abgang
Viele Rosinen und Tabak mit einer sehr schönen holzigen Note. Nüsse und Kokosnuss. Lange im Mund verweilend.
Fazit
Vom Beginn bis zum aromatischen Finish ein sehr schöner Rum, der mich vor allem von seinen tollen holzigen und Gewürz-Noten überzeugt. Zusammen mit einem sehr schönen ausgewogenen Fruchtanteil. Man kann die knapp 50% wunderbar pur trinken, dann hat er mehr Wumms, aber er belohnt einen dafür auch mehr im Geschmack. Das Cognac Fass merkt man meiner Meinung nach durch die Traubenassoziation und vor allem auch durch dieses schöne Holzaroma. Mein erster Rum aus Guadeloupe, sicher nicht mein letzter!

Appearance
Dark amber
Nose
Very nice aromatic liquorice notes with milk chocolate, vanilla, dried grapes, grated coconut soaked in sugar syrup, candied orange, nutmeg, cinnamon. Alcohol shows up with a slight freshness and mint chocolate, After Eight not unlike when you break the leaves apart. With a few drops of water on the one hand more spices but now also chocolate bananas.
Taste
Nice light sweetness of the dried grapes and candied orange and coconut. Quickly tingling, spicy with some pepper. Tobacco leaves with spices. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg and dark chocolate with nut. With water it becomes creamy sweeter with more fruit and the taste becomes rounder, more harmonious.
Finish
Lots of sultanas and tobacco with a very nice woody note. Nuts and coconut. Lingering in the mouth for a long time.
Conclusion
From the start to the aromatic finish, a very nice rum that convinces me especially with its great woody and spicy notes. Together with a very nice balanced fruit content. You can drink the almost 50% wonderfully neat, then it has more punch, but it also rewards you more in taste. In my opinion, you notice the cognac barrel through the grape association and especially through this beautiful wood aroma. My first rum from Guadeloupe, but certainly not my last!
